The points mentioned in the post aren't just a problem in Shadowrun. It simply boils down to the type of player. Some people are just interested in killing stuff and that's great (Go play Munchkin), cant argue with that mentality at all and in a game like Exalted, I want people like you there.
Shadowrun is different though, you should constantly feel like in a one on one fight you don't out match someone and that the clock is always against you. No time to stop and loot as someone with a shotgun might be coming down the lift. Move the body to behind a plant pot in a crudely hidden ideal and move on to the next location.
Shadowrun is brilliant for the simple fact "When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all".
Then there's the Gotta Kill 'Em All mentality. As a good friend of mine pointed out recently, "If you need to shoot your gun on a quiet run you've already failed."
