Semantic versioning joke aside. EF 7 looks like its set to be the same framework most people love to work with. With a new polish in the backend.
One thing that is worrying is the fact they are talking about batch updates though, this was implemented in the last major release so is nothing new, although maybe now it is being implemented better. It seems that some of the stuff maybe there as a way to make the framework shine, after all its very difficult to sell backend changes.
EF6.x code base wasn’t setup to achieve what we wanted to in EF7, and that EF7 would be a “lightweight and extensible version of EF”. That begs the question, is EF7 the next version of EF, or is it something new? Before we dig into the answer, let’s cover exactly what’s the same and what’s changing.
